CLEARLINK Changes Lives, Pound by Pound

Utah integrated local marketing company completed its annual fitness competition, losing a total of 252 pounds and resulting in thousands of dollars for the Utah Food Bank

SALT LAKE CITY, April 15, 2010 - CLEARLINK Technologies, a Utah-based integrated local marketing firm, completed its annual fitness competition yesterday at the PEAK Academy at the University of Utah, where 30 employees hit the scales and dropped a total of 252 pounds, benefiting not only dozens of employees' physiques but also the less fortunate and the Utah Food Bank.

CLEARLINK's Pound for Pound Program will donate a ten dollars to the Utah Food Bank for every pound of fat lost and every pound of muscle gained by its employees. According to the Utah Food Bank CLEARLINK's weight loss will result in over $1,000 worth of food for those in need.

"We want our employees to engage in life changing experiences, and I believe the Pound for Pound program accomplishes this two-fold; benefiting both our employees and the Food Bank," said CLEARLINK CEO Phil Hansen.

In addition to supporting the Utah Food Bank, CLEARLINK rewarded its employees for healthy lifestyle changes. The winners of the competition took home almost $8,500 for their efforts. The competition included a men's and women's division, with three category winners apiece, totaling 6 winners. The categories included: lowest fat percentage, percent of weight loss and total body change.

"The competition helped me get back into habits to help me be where I should be," said Matt Copier, a CLEARLINK sales professional. "I feel like I'm ready to do more both in and out of the workplace."

CLEARLINK is dedicated to improving the lives of its employees, taking to heart recent studies demonstrating that individuals who live a healthier lifestyle are happier and perform better at work. For many of CLEARLINK's employees this is the 2nd year participating in the competition, and it will not be the last.

Through CLEARLINK's Pound for Pound program, essential food items are provided for those in need. To conclude the competition, competitors from CLEARLINK will donate the most precious gift of all, their time, to the Utah Food Bank on May 5th as the dollars they earned are put to use.

The Utah Food Bank provides much needed food to meet the basic needs of more than 245,100 people living in poverty. According to a 2009 Census report, 1 in 10 residents live in poverty. As one of the top distributors for emergency food, The Utah Food Bank welcomes the help that companies such as CLEARLINK provide for the community.
