CLEARLINK Brings Books and Smiles to Children at the YWCA
Utah integrated local marketing company hosted a book drive for employees resulting in a large book donation for the YWCA.
Salt Lake City, April 27, 2010 - CLEARLINK Technologies, a Utah-based integrated local marketing firm, partnered with USBorne Books to host an in-house book drive for employees with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA).
CLEARLINK employees had the opportunity to buy books for their families, contributing dollars toward the drive, or to buy books specifically for the YWCA from their wish list. The book drive generated $500 dollars in books for the YWCA classroom.
"CLEARLINK is dedicated to creating valuable relationships within our community," said Cammie Cable, CLEARLINK VP of Human Resources. "Our relationship with USBorne books and the YWCA allowed our employees to enrich their personal lives by purchasing books as well as providing less fortunate families with the opportunity to enjoy the power of reading."
CLEARLINK is committed to enriching the lives of its employees through educational development and focusing efforts to give back to our community. The partnership with USBorne books, and subsequent donations to the YWCA, played an important role in furthering those goals.
Although CLEARLINK employees do not see the faces of the children they directly impact, they know what a huge difference these books make. The books will greatly benefit the children by providing them with new reading materials, especially making a difference to children with language barriers.
In addition to providing shelter, the onsite classroom at the YWCA is designed to help children transition into traditional schools. The YWCA also provides support and one-on-one mentoring to students after they are registered in school, and acts as a liaison between teachers, parents and family members.
