Buying Books for a Cause

There's nothing quite like the gift of a good book. Recently, CLEARLINK partnered with USBorne Books to host an in-house book fair and drive, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA). The YWCA provides safety, shelter, food and clothing as well as after school programs for families and children in need.

During the length of the drive, when employees purchased books for their friends and families, a portion of the sale was donated to YWCA to fund the purchase of new books for their classroom. Employees also had the opportunity to provide reading materials to the children directly by purchasing books from the YWCA wishlist for the classroom.

The onsite YWCA classroom is designed to help children transition into traditional school settings and provides one-on-one support and mentoring to students once they are enrolled in school. The books give children access to new reading material and especially assist children with language barriers.
